17,000 SF Building Addition in Niagara Falls, ON

MMDI was retained by Purileaf in order to facilitate the Design and Construction of the proposed 16,500 SF pharmaceutical building addition in November 2019. MMDI assembled and led a professional team of consultants, projected a comprehensive budget and established timelines in order to complete the project by the Client stipulated target dates.

From the original concept, it was clear that the budget had to be reduced. The cost estimate provided by a cost consultant estimated the cost of works to be between $7.5M and $8M. Through design changes led by MMDI and via an aggressive tendering process, MMDI was able to reduce the final budget to $5.5M while adhering to the stringent Health Canada requirements, GMP and GPP standards and the Client’s production requirements.

MMDI managed the Minor Variance Approval, Site Plan Approval and Building Permit for this project and began construction in September 2020. The construction is projected to be completed by September 2021.
